Potter’s House Celebrate Recovery / Camdenton, MO

August 16, 2011

I had to do some laundry in the morning and visit the Post Office to mail some CD’s and DVD’s. I also had to visit AT&T to have them check my Bluetooth function. Something is wrong with the paring on my phone and I will have to visit the Apple Store next week when I travel back toward Tulsa, Oklahoma to have it serviced.

There was a small turnout at the Potter’s House but Curtis Dickerson welcomed me warmly and had a great sound system set up for me. I was allowed 35 minutes for my program and felt that it went very smooth. The response was very good and I sold more CD’s than I expected to. There is a possibility I could be invited back for their church service and special event in late October.

I was approached by Ray Rothenberger, who managed and cared for Stone’s Mansion, a property on the lake owned by a Jewish man. He asked if I would bring my friends over to the house and sing for a Pastor who was staying there. We agreed to go and followed him to the mansion. It was huge and beautiful. There were 6 bedrooms and many decks and patios, boat dock, and swimming pool. The kitchen was very large and in the lower section they called the “man-cave”, there was a pool table, foosball machine, shuffleboard, ping pong, and bar. Ruth, Ray’s wife, had bought some pies and made some coffee for us. There were other people there visiting and when they all settled in one of the living rooms; I gave my testimony in song. They really enjoyed it and invited me to stay at the mansion anytime I’m in the area. They also spoke of contacting relatives in Iowa who have connections to the Ft. Madison Prison there. Those same relatives would possibly provide a church venue as well.

Ruth’s two sons had attended the meeting at the Potter’s House and she was so glad they were there. Both of them had been battling addictions and had been in trouble with the Law. One of them contacted her and said he believed it was time he got some help after hearing my testimony.
